• Bandhan Bank to focus on women, students, NRIs

  • Kolkata: Bandhan Bank has stated that it will focus on students, women and non-resident Indians to raise its customer base nationwide. The private sector bank has introduced ‘Avni’, an exclusive savings account for women, reports Sarthak Ganguly. It also offers reward points, named ‘Delight Points’, for frequent transactions. The bank has around 3.5 crore customers, with 73% women, at 2.6 crore.

    Ratan Kumar Kesh, managing director and chief executive officer (interim) of Bandhan Bank, said, “We have more women customers than men, and this has prompted us to introduce Avni.However, the benefits of Avni will not apply to the existing women customers.”

    Rajinder Kumar Babbar, executive director and chief business officer, said the lender will develop more products for women in the coming days.
