• 'I'm innocent': Why prime accused Sanjay Roy gave consent for lie-detector test, breaks down infront of court

  • NEW DELHI: A city court on Friday granted permission to the CBI to conduct polygraph tests on seven individuals, including prime suspect Sanjay Roy, in connection with the RG Kar rape and murder case.

Why did Sanjay Roy agree to the polygraph test?

Sanjay Roy reportedly became emotional when the magistrate asked him why he was consenting to the polygraph test.“I haven’t committed any crime. I’m being framed. Maybe this test will that,” Roy said.

Before giving his consent, Roy's lawyer, Kavita Sarkar, explained the polygraph test to him. When the magistrate asked him directly, Roy responded that he was agreeing because he was innocent.

    Earlier 'confession' by Roy

Both members of the state's special investigation team (SIT) and, later, the CBI (after taking over the case) claimed that Roy had previously "admitted" to the crime and even helped reconstruct details.

Investigators pointed to several pieces of evidence suggesting Roy's involvement, including injuries on his body, CCTV footage, and seized items.

Sources confirmed that the polygraph test on Roy will be conducted at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in New Town.

Sanjay Roy: A sexual deviant addicted to violent pornography

According to the CBI's psychoanalytic profile, Sanjay Roy, the traffic police volunteer and the sole suspect arrested in the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder case, is described as a "sexual deviant" with "animalistic tendencies."

The profile revealed that Roy was addicted to disturbing and violent pornography, as evidenced by the content found on his mobile phone. “The content on his phone was highly disturbing and violent. It raises serious concerns about his mental state, as watching such material is extremely abnormal,” a police officer told PTI.
