Kolkata: To prevent encroachment, the state urban development department has decided to fence off all non-residential vacant plots in Salt Lake Sector I and II that are yet to be allotted or the allotment has been cancelled by the department.
The authorities have given approval to its Salt Lake reclamation and development circle to fence off all such vacant plots at the earliest.Similar instructions were earlier given for all vacant plots in the IT hub of Sector V.
Govt officials said that there were still a few such vacant plots in Salt Lake and in Sector V, which are yet to be allotted or whose allotment was cancelled due to no construction work been taken up for years. TNN
