  • Sandip Ghosh KOLKATA: The CBI on Monday conducted a polygraph test on Sandip Ghosh, a day after they ran him through Layered Voice Analysis (LVA), as the investigators found his responses to be "inconsistent" during the past nine days' investigation.

According to CBI sources, Ghosh was put through the polygraph test by the experts from Delhi who analysed his responses to a number of questions. The officers have already found discrepancies in his statements over the chronology of the events on Aug 8 and Aug 9. They CBI is now trying to untangle several issues like what made the assistant superintendent call up family members to convey that their daughter has "died by suicide".

Ghosh had claimed that he was not involved with what happened on Aug 9. But investigators have reasons to believe that he might had a long conversation with some officers of the hospital before parents were told about her "suicide". Ghosh's explanation regarding his absence when the police reached R G Kar Hospital is also not satisfactory.

On Saturday too, Ghosh was put through the LVA test to assess and identify various stress levels, cognitive processes and emotional reactions in his voice. Polygraph test was also done on four doctors for the second time on Monday.
