Kolkata: In the wake of the RG Kar incident, Eastern Railway has beefed up security for women at BR Singh Hospital. Deepak Nigam, DRM, Sealdah, recently convened a meeting and took a host of decisions like installing more CCTVs, lights, panic buttons, deploying extra security staff, making ID cards compulsory for all staff members and introducing QR-code access for doors and helpline numbers for women.
“We want to ensure the indoors are well-lit, have extra security personnel, make ID cards compulsory for doctors, staff and paramedics,” said Nigam.
