Kolkata: The CBI has sought authorization from a Kolkata court to administer a polygraph test on city police assistant sub-inspector Anup Dutta, who was allegedly closely associated with Sanjay Roy, the apprehended suspect in the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College, officials said on Tuesday. The CBI is investigating the possibility of Dutta aiding Roy in concealing the crime, they revealed, even as Kolkata Police accepted on Tuesday that it was ASI Dutta who had lent his official bike to Roy.
According to reports, Dutta was purportedly instrumental in granting various indulgences to Roy. The central investigative agency is endeavouring to ascertain if Roy confided in Dutta about the crime and received any assistance, they said. TNN
