Kolkata: A cyclonic circulation over east central Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood is likely to trigger heavy rain along the coasts of Bengal, Odisha and Andhra over the next two days. The circulation is likely to move west-north-westwards and become more marked over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal by Friday.
“Thereafter, while moving towards north Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts, it is likely to intensify into a depression over West Central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal during subsequent two days,” said a bulletin issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC).
“While the coastal areas could receive heavy rain under its impact, land areas including south Bengal districts and Kolkata will remain unaffected. In fact, the city could receive very little rain till Aug 31,” said RMC weather scientist H R Biswas.
