Kolkata: Calcutta Customs defeated Kalighat Sports Lovers Association 2-0 in Kalyani on Saturday to seal their place in the championship round of the ongoing CFL Premier Division. After a goalless first half, Johny Lalremruata (62nd minute) and Ashsish Chhetri’s own goal (86 minutes) were enough for Customs to book their Super Six spot as the third team from Group B with 24 points from 12 matches.The result also ended the slim hopes for Mohun Bagan, who have 16 points with two games in hand, to stay in the contention.
East Bengal FC and Bhawanipore SC (both on 31 points, although the former have a game in hand) are the other two teams from this group to advance to the championship round.
