Kolkata: A contempt application was moved before the division bench of Chief Justice T S Sivagnanam and Justice Hiranmay Bhattacharyya of the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday against the state over tram services in the city.
Petitioner’s counsel Anindya Lahiri said the state had taken a policy decision to run trams on only one route. “The decision was taken at a meeting at the Kolkata mayor’s chamber,” he said.The case will be next heard on Sept 24. tnn
