Kolkata: Amid the agitation by junior doctors, a group of interns vandalised the seminar room of College of Medicine & Sagore Dutta Medical College on Thursday. The Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) has named nine interns for the vandalism and demanded the college authority to file an FIR against them.
The incident happened when the RDA representatives were holding a meeting with college council on campus security and threat culture.The accused barged into seminar room threatening them and vandalised it.
The RDA has also named a few faculty members who had instigated the accused. The junior doctors later gheraoed the principal.
Sources said the accused interns as well as a few professors are close to the ‘North Bengal lobby’.
