  • Kolkata: The former Raj Bhavan staffer, who had alleged sexual harassment by governor C V Ananda Bose, reminds everyone about her cry for justice as she too has joined in the protest seeking justice for the RG Kar victim.

“I did not find much support when I was abused by the governor. Only because he is the governor, even no enquiry was done. Rather Bose claimed it was a political conspiracy.Nobody had shouted ‘justice for Raj Bhavan’, only because I was a contractual employee and he was the governor. But I am glad that the situation has changed now and pray that the young doctor gets justice,” the woman told TOI on Friday.

She added she had switched off lights at her home on Wednesday and had lit candles at her house while praying for justice like thousands of people in Kolkata. “Like all, I am also praying for her Justice and I have full faith in the Supreme Court,” she said.

The 29-year-old had lodged a police complaint against the governor on May 2 alleging she was molested and harassed by him on at least two occasions. A general diary entry was made at Hare Street PS and an SIT was formed. But an FIR could not be registered because according to Article 361 of the Constitution, no criminal proceedings can be started against a governor.

An FIR was later registered against three Raj Bhavan employees, who, the woman claimed, had tried to prevent her from lodging a complaint.

She had later moved the Supreme Court, seeking a direction against the blanket immunity from criminal prosecution granted to the governor under Article 361 and also wrote to PM Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu.

“Nothing significant has happened in my case. I know what he did and how I had suffered. There was no politics in that but there is also no end to my suffering,” said the woman.

CM Mamata Banerjee had said last month that the woman has been offered a new job. She confirmed it.
