• Whether to go back to work is junior docs’ call, says CPM

  • Kolkata: CPM on Monday said the decision of lifting cease-work was for the protesting junior doctors to take.

“Supreme Court has made a lot of observations... It is up to the agitators to decide,” CPM senior Sujan Chakraborty said on Monday.

The party, which organised a march to Lalbazar on Monday, also criticised CM Mamata Banerjee’s appeal of going back to festivities.“The CM has asked people to join the celebrations. But people are demanding justice. It is clear that she doesn’t want justice to be served,” Chakraborty added.

Reacting to Banerjee’s statement that corruption thrived in state hospitals since the times of the Left Front, Chakraborty added: “If it started with the Left, why hasn’t she broken that? Who has stopped the health minister from doing that? She had enough time in 13 years.” tnn
