Teachers and staff of state government schools stage a protest rally organised by ABTA against the alleged sexual assault and murder of a PGT doctor of the RG Kar Hospital, in Kolkata on Thursday. (ANI Photo) KOLKATA: Sanjay Roy's lawyer Kabita Sarkar, who has expressed doubts over the post-mortem process of the RG Kar victim, is likely to question in court the process of the autopsy and preservation of fluids retrieved by the police. Roy is the only person, who has so far been arrested for the rape and murder of the RG Kar doctor.
Sarkar on Thursday said the time of post-mortem had raised doubts about the intention of police and doctors."If the post-mortem was conducted after 4 pm, and doctors had initially refused to conduct the process, it is a concern. What was so urgent, which prompted the police to issue an order to carry out the post-mortem even when the doctors were not ready?" she said.
Sarkar, who last met Roy on Wednesday at Presidency Correctional Home, has also raised questions about the preservation of swab and body fluid. "It has to be preserved at 4 degrees Celsius. We are not sure if the process was followed. Otherwise there is every chance of the samples being contaminated," she said.
