The agency also searched his nursing home in Kolkata's Belgharia neighbourhood.
A team of CBI officials reached the Sinthee residence of Roy, who is the chairperson of the Patient Welfare Committee (Rogi Kalyan Samiti) of R G Kar Medical College and Hospital, and quizzed him at length.
According to CBI sources, Roy had received a call from RG Kar's then principal Sandip Ghosh a little after 10 am on Aug 9, informing him about the incident.
Roy had told media persons at the time that it was a case of unnatural death. When CBI officials asked him what made him conclude it was an unnatural death, Roy said he could not say anything else before the autopsy was conducted.
Roy has also been accused of swapping new machines at RG Kar with old ones at his nursing home. Denying the allegation, he said, "It is impossible to swap machines. The models are different and it can be inspected anytime. I worked hard to set up this nursing home."
