Kolkata: There was commotion at Park Street metro station when a woman was found walking on the Dakshineswar-bound tracks of the North-South corridor at 9.05pm. Services were disrupted for around 40 minutes.
“The motorman driving DK-276 in the Down direction (toward New Garia) reported that he spotted the young woman walking on the Up tracks between Maidan and Park Street stations.A power block was taken on both lines. At 9.10pm, the woman was rescued from the Up (Dakshineswar-bound tracks). Services were restored on both lines from 9.32pm,” Metro Railway said in a statement.
Passengers said the woman claimed that she had climbed down to the tracks from Maidan metro station with a friend. The woman will be produced in Sealdah court on Friday, metro officials said. TNN
