ED finds medical exam answer sheets from house of Ghosh kin

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate has recovered answer scripts of medical examinations, copies of govt tenders and several other documents from the residence of ex-R G Kar Medical College principal Sandip Ghosh’s sister-in-law. The agency had conducted a search there, along with a few other places, on Sept 6.
Junior doctors had alleged that Ghosh used to run a nexus involved in giving better grades to students against money.They also alleged that meritorious students scored low in the college examinations while some performed exceptionally well. They alleged the nexus manipulated answers and leaked questions against money to provide better grades.
On Sept 6, ED officials went to Ghosh’s in-laws’ residence at Chandernagore. They came to know about a location near Kolkata airport where his in-laws have been staying. The agency conducted searches there. Coming out of Ghosh’s sister-in-law’s residence, ED officials were spotted carrying a black trolley bag. According to sources, it had nearly 200 pages of answer sheets.
ED may also quiz Ghosh’s parents who stayed at a house named ‘Ghosh Villa’ in Chinar Park. Sources said his parents, who are in New Delhi, may reach Kolkata on Friday.
