Kolkata: Trinamool launched a sharp attack on Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose after he called for a “social boycott” of CM Mamata Banerjee on Thursday.
Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra took to X to write: “Excuse me? You — a deviant accused of molesting women within Raj Bhavan premises are telling Mamata Banerjee you won’t share a public platform with her? India’s women will be better off if you never come out in public.Seriously.”
Calling Bose’s comments “despicable”, Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose posted: “...Is he a constitutional authority or a BJP agent? Bose is also an alleged sex offender. Two women — a Raj Bhavan staffer and a Odissi dancer have accused Bose of serious sexual assault. Bose again brings disgrace to the governor’s post.”
Bengal assembly speaker Biman Banerjee said: “Such political statements are not expected from the governor. People will not listen to his statements. This will help our CM to garner more support from people.”
