Kolkata: Mohun Bagan SG on Sunday announced the signing of Portuguese defender Nuno Reis. He will be the seventh foreigner in Jose Molina’s green-and-maroon brigade.
The acquisition of Reis has been done keeping in mind the team’s upcoming debut in the AFC Champions League-2. The 31-year-old Portuguese also played with Bagan’s Australian forward Jamie Maclaren at Melbourne City FC.
The arrival of Reis — who has already applied for visa — is expected to provide solidity to Bagan’s struggling defence.
Molina’s team will launch their ACL-2 campaign with a home match against Tajikistan’s Ravshan Kulob this Wednesday. tnn
