• Finnish firms look for biz opportunities in Bengal

  • Kolkata: A team of business delegates from Finland is likely to visit Bengal next year to explore commercial possibilities in various sectors, said Pekka Halmet, chairman of the British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce, Finland, on Tuesday. Business honchos from the European nation are keen to expand their footprint in the state or collaborate with local firms, including start-ups and SMEs, he said.

    Halmet said: “In India, around 100 Finnish companies are already present, and we hope the number will increase.Several Finnish companies are interested in exploring business opportunities in Bengal and other parts of eastern India.” Finland’s priorities include digitisation, education, sustainability and innovation.
