  • KOLKATA: Normal life in Kolkata was partially disrupted due to moderate to heavy rainfall overnight, with the Met office forecasting more rain. The forecast indicates fairly widespread rain across West Bengal over the next three days, followed by scattered to fairly widespread rain in the subsequent four days.

Commuters faced difficulties reaching their schools and workplaces on Thursday morning due to the overnight downpour, which partially affected normal life in the state capital.

Several roads in Kolkata and the nearby Salt Lake area were inundated, and public transportation was less frequent than usual as a result of the continuous rainfall that began on Wednesday morning.

According to the Met office, Kolkata received 63 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours leading up to 6.30 am on Thursday.

The weather department also predicted a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of rain until Friday morning.
