• DM, ADMs of flood-hit districts among 39 IAS officers transferred

  • The West Bengal government on Wednesday transferred 39 IAS officers, including K Radhika Aiyar, the district magistrate of Purba Bardhaman.

    Sources in the government said there were several complaints against the Purba Bardhaman district administration over tackling the flood situation. “There were complaints of Purba Bardhaman district administration failing to tackle the flood situation and distribution of relief materials,” a senior officer of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department said.

    Aiyar, a 2011-batch IAS officer, has been transferred to the Health and Family Welfare Department. In her place, Ayesha Rani, a 2009 batch IAS officer and Divisional Commissioner of Medinipur range, has been brought in.

    Along with Aiyer, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Purba Bardhaman, Sana Akhtar, has been transferred. Akhtar has been replaced by SDO, Canning, Prateek Singh.

    Four ADMs of flood-affected districts Paschim Bardhaman, Howrah and Hooghly have also been moved out.   Subashini E has replaced Shiraz Daneswar as ADM of Paschim Bardhaman; Tamil Oviya S and Anuj Pratap Singh have replaced Aditi Chaudhary as Kuhuk Bhishan as ADMs of Hooghly; and Divya Murugeshan has replaced Rishin Ismail as ADM of Howrah.
