Kolkata: To meet the unprecedented rush of holidayers during the festive season, Eastern and South-Eastern Railways have planned some puja special trains during Oct and Nov.
Eastern Railway’s Sealdah division will run extra trains on routes like Kolkata-Puri, Kolkata-Patna, Sealdah-Vadodara, Sealdah Gorakhpur, Sealdah Lucknow, and Jammu Tawi-Kolkata.
“These trains are being introduced to cater to the increased passenger traffic during Durga Puja and Diwali, providing additional travel options for the public,” an ER spokesperson said.
South-Eastern Railway too has planned special trains linking destinations like Kolkata, Puri, Chennai and Patna. An SER spokesperson said, “The routes have been selected according to demand.” TNN
