Police arrest two accused for assaulting Bihar job aspirants in Siliguri after viral video

NEW DELHI: Bagdogra Police, under the Siliguri Police Commissionerate, have arrested two persons for allegedly threatening, harassing and assaulting two youths from Bihar who had come to Siliguri to take an exam.
The accused, identified as Rajat Bhattacharya and Giridhari Roy, are residents of Siliguri, according to police officials.
A viral video showing two Bihar job aspirants being assaulted by local residents in West Bengal has sparked outrage among political leaders.
In response, the police quickly took action, detaining one suspect.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh shared the video on social media on Thursday, showing Bihar students being attacked in West Bengal. Among the students was Ankit Yadav from Danapur, who had traveled to Siliguri for the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) physical test.
