Kolkata: General diary entries should be made correctly and on time, CCTV footage —inside a police station or at a crime spot—needs to be conserved properly and the entry and exit of cops at their workplace should correspond to the CCTV findings: These were a few tips that Kolkata Police commissioner Manoj Kumar Verma on Friday shared with officers of various police stations.
Verma interacted with his juniors as he went for his first night visit to police stations under the South Division and the inspections went on till night. Pointing out that Durga Puja was round the corner, which he called the force’s “annual exam”, Verma urged the cops’ morale to be at the highest. He reminded them that force had faced multiple challenges, in the recent past and even earlier, but had always triumphed, thanks to their skills and perseverance.
“The police commissioner told us we were just a call away for any help we need from Lalbazar,” said a senior officer.
Among the other matters discussed, Verma sought to ascertain the exact number of pujas being organized within the purview of each police station he visited and the arrangements being instituted.
