Kolkata: The Supreme Court directed the state to ensure that all infrastructure work at medical facilites was completed within the deadline provided, prompting the latter to assure that it would be done by Oct 31; Dwivedi also submitted that he had stressed upon the state govt to try and complete the work by Oct 15.
Exactly 6,178 new CCTV cameras were being installed and 26% of the work was done, the state said, adding that it was waiting for CBI clearance before starting work on duty rooms at RG Kar.
Solicitor-general Tushar Mehta said the CBI had no objection to the work. “They have already done whatever they were not supposed to do in the first five days,” he said.
Senior advocate Karuna Nundy, appearing for senior doctors, told the SC about two attacks on doctors in Oct, including one at Sagore Dutta Medical College and Hospital.
