Kolkata: A team of doctors in a Howrah hospital saved the life of a prematurely born boy weighing only 1.2 kg and battling a complex cardiac condition by conducting an intricate surgery when he was only 26 days old. Two months after the cardiac procedure the boy has recovered and is back home in his native place Khowai in Tripura with his parents.
Initially, admitted in a hospital in Kolkata and on ventilation, the infant with Coarctation of the Aorta was transferred to Narayana Superspecialty Hospital, Howrah where an extensive paediatric cardiology team led by paediatric cardiologist Amitabha Chattopadhyay performed the life-saving procedure on the little boy.
