Kolkata: Kolkata Bus-o-pedia, a group of bus lovers active on social media, has now introduced a dedicated app where a bus passenger can check the present route of any bus plying in the city. They can also check bus routes available between any two points across Kolkata and its adjoining districts. Passengers can also check all possible bus routes that pass through major stoppages spread across the city.
The app will be officially launched on Playstore on Wednesday.
This app allows passengers using the website – www.
kolbusopedia.
com – to search for buses under three separate heads - search buses by source and destination, search a bus route and search bus for a location – all at the same time. The service, at present, comes for free. “One needs to enter our website and click search your bus route option to avail our services. Our app can be downloaded and used. Our future plan includes locating the buses real time using GPS, “said Aniket Banerjee, general secretary of Kolkata-bus-o-pedia
The app will also additionally provide a special section on Durga Puja Parikrama.
