BJP National President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda on Thursday scathingly criticised West Bengal’s Trinamool Congress-led government, saying they are fostering “threat culture and jungle raj” in the state.
Addressing a gathering at a hotel in Kolkata, Nadda criticised the state government’s “inability” to protect its citizens, particularly women, citing an “unsafe work environment for healthcare professionals”. He called for the West Bengal administration to adhere to “advisories issued by the central government, aimed at bolstering safety in medical colleges and hospitals”.
Nadda voiced his “support” for the junior doctors amidst their ongoing protests in Kolkata for safer work environments and state accountability, which erupted after the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9.
“May Durga give us strength… It is through her blessings that auspicious energy develops. So, we will fight against injustice in West Bengal with the blessings of Maa Durga and I assure you, truth will prevail here. Justice will be established,” Nadda said.
Nadda offered prayers on the occasion of Navratri at the Santosh Mitra Square Puja Pandal in Kolkata on Thursday.
