Kolkata: Twelve men, including a member of Rajarhat Bishnupur 1 Gram Panchayat, were arrested on Sunday night on charges of disorderly conduct, assault on cops and abusing women at a Durga Puja immersion procession. Police said a group of women complained some men were splashing alcohol on them while they were dancing and walking in the procession. Cops picked up a number of intoxicated men.
Later at night, a group of men led by panchayat member Subrata Das engaged in a scuffle with cops at the police station injuring three cops. TNN
