State chief electoral officer meets DMs on bypolls

They were also asked to keep tabs on social media to ensure there was no violation of norms. DMs were told to remain accessible to parties and candidates and hear voters’ grievances.
Central forces were expected to arrive by this week, an official said. There are initially going to be 20 companies of forces for each seat; this may later be increased based on local inputs and reports from DMs.
In earlier bypolls, 30 companies had been deployed per assembly segment, the official said.
