  • Kolkata: BSF personnel from 145 Battalion intercepted a drone, which was being smuggled into India by a Bangladeshi traveller while he was crossing the border. The drone, valued at Rs 90,000, was found in his bag.

The traveller, possessing a Bangladeshi passport, was found carrying a DJI RC2 Mini 4 Pro drone, along with accessories, hidden in his luggage.

On interrogation, he told BSF that the drone was for his personal use. But he reportedly failed to show documents, such as purchase receipts, registration, or travel declarations, as mandated by Indian Customs regulations and the DGCA guidelines for drone transport and use.

The man, along with the drone and accessories, was handed to the Customs authorities at the Petrapole Land Customs Station. tnn
