  • Kolkata: ISL debutants Mohammedan Sporting Club will seek their first home win in the tournament when they host Kerala Blasters FC at the Kishore Bharati Stadium here on Sunday.

The southern side in spite of being a poor traveller recording just one win in their last nine trips on the road, will take heart from the fact that they have a good record in the city.

Their last two visits to Kolkata were fruitful, with a 1-0 victory over Mohun Bagan Super Giant and a 2-1 win against East Bengal FC.

Mohammedan Sporting will also look to get over their 0-3 drubbing at the hands of Bagan in their last match and also rise on the points table after managing four points from their first four games.

There will be an unknown factor in play too as Sunday’s match will be the first face-off between the two sides in the ISL.

Coach Andrey Chernyshov sounded cautious ahead of Kerala tie. “Kerala Blasters are a good and strong team. They have players who have played for a long time in the ISL. They are really good in attack and score in every match. We need to be ready for that,” he said in the pre-match press conference.
