Kolkata: IndiGo is set to start its second frequency to Bangkok from Kolkata from Nov 24. The second flight will initially be operated on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
If the response is good, the airline will add flights on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday to make the service twice-daily.
IndiGo operated twice-daily flights to Bangkok prior to the pandemic but resumed services with only one daily flight thereafter.
At present, SpiceJet, Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, and Bhutan Airways operate daily flights between the two cities.
“The number of flights is set to increase from 35 a week to 39 from Nov 24. That will mean more travel options for Kolkatans to the most popular overseas destination. Bangkok is popular both among business and leisure tourists,” said Travel Agents’ Association of India Chairman (East) Anjani Dhanuka.
