  • Kolkata: More than 20 universities, each presenting an array of courses and diverse career options, participated in the Augusto Career Fair 2024. Organized by St. Augustine’s Day School recently, the fair offered students a platform to gain insights into various career paths. Additionally, distinguished guest speakers, renowned in their respective fields, shared their knowledge and wisdom, leaving a lasting impact on the students.

    The proceedings commenced with a candle-lighting ceremony in honour of the founder, Late CR Gasper.

    Principal Sweta Ray declared the career fair open. The event commenced with an inaugural song by the school choir. Students had the privilege of engaging with experts from diverse fields, including journalist Shishir Roy; actor, director and playwright Sharanya Day; writer Kaberi Roychowdhury and senior scriptwriter Manish Gaekwad. A panel discussio, led by Sreeja Bhattacharya, a cabin crew member and Shreya Roy, ground staff at Kolkata Airport, provided valuable insights into the aviation industry.

    The event featured a session led by RJ Sayan Ghosh. Career counsellor Amrita Basu answered the queries of the students. Notable speakers included Jyoti Bagri, a hospitality expert; Indranil Chatterjee, a sound designer and music producer; Abhijit Chatterjee, entrepreneur; Shayomita Dasgupta, a dancer; and Dr Partha Sarathi Bhattacharjee, a singer-cum-doctor. The students gained valuable insights into career opportunities, course applications as well as success strategies.
