  • 123 Kolkata: A 42-year-old daily wage earner suffering from epilepsy drowned in a local pond at Agarpara on Tuesday afternoon. The man was allegedly forced into the pond to retrieve an apparel that belonged to a neighbouring woman.

The disaster management team from Barrackpore Commissionerate was able to fish out the body of the victim, Arjun Nayek, a resident of Agarpara Basanti Cotton Mill Quarter, on Tuesday evening, nearly a couple of hours after he drowned. Sources said the man's medical condition may have contributed to the tragedy.
