Burdwan: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped by five in East Burdwan's Bijoyram area around 10pm on Tuesday. The incident took place while the survivor was speaking to her boyfriend near an under-construction building. Two of the accused were known to the survivor.
A case has been filed under section 70 (I) 308 (6) of BNS. The survivor provided her statement before a judicial magistrate and underwent a medico-legal examination.
All the five suspects — Sk Soleman, Rohit Mirza, Sk Siraj, Sk Asgar and Md Arif — have been arrested. Court has granted seven days of police custody for the five.
