  • Circular Railway services will be limited for three days due to Kali idol immersions. KOLKATA: Circular Railway Train Services to be Restricted for Three Days Due to Kali Idol Immersions

    In response to a request from the civil administration, Eastern Railways’ Sealdah Division announced temporary adjustments to Circular Railway services on November 2, 3, and 4, 2024, to accommodate the immersion processions of Kali idols.

    To ensure a smooth and safe environment during these days, the following changes in train schedules and routes have been implemented:

    Short-Terminated and Short-Originated Services: Seven Circular Railway EMU locals (30322, 30128, 30324, 30346, 30312, 30314, and 30122) will be short-terminated at Kolkata Station. Additionally, seven other EMU locals (30145, 30121, 30333, 30331, 30311, 30111, and 30313) will commence their journeys from Kolkata Station.

    Barasat and Sealdah (North) Adjustments: One EMU local (30344) will be short-terminated at Barasat, while one other (30154) will be rerouted and terminated at Sealdah (North). Another service (30123) will start from Sealdah (North), said ER-CPRO Kaushik Mitra.

    Diversions via Alternative Routes: Two EMU locals (30142 and 30332) will be diverted through the Kankurgachhi Road Junction–Ballygunge route to reach Majherhat. Another train (30353) will run on a diverted route from Majherhat, and one additional EMU local (30135) will operate via Ballygunge.

    Adjustments at Ballygunge Station: Two EMU locals (30511 and 30711) will terminate at Ballygunge, while two (30712 and 30552) will originate from Ballygunge. Moreover, two more services (30342 and 30112) will be short-terminated at Ballygunge, and two other services (30321 and 30317) will start there and proceed via Kankurgachhi Road.

    In total, nine Circular Railway EMU local services (30412, 30416, 30411, 30351, 31223, 30113, 30116, and 31242) will be suspended during these three days.

    To assist commuters, a special Sealdah-Baruipur EMU will depart Sealdah at 7:10 p.m., following the 30451 schedule from Ballygunge onwards.
