Kolkata: The state finance department will start evaluation of properties belonging to joint venture companies and state-owned PSUs for restructuring purposes, enlisting assistance from professional valuers. On Friday, the finance department issued an RFP to appoint valuers for assessing assets of over 40 JV companies and state PSUs.
An official said the finance department intends to evaluate the underlying assets of these companies to assess their holdings and determine optimal utilisation. He mentioned that the finance department contemplates restructuring certain JV companies through merger or amalgamation processes, or potentially opt for closure based on viability assessments.
