KOLKATA: Fifteen school students and a teacher from a school in Andhra Pradesh embarked on a national integration tour organised by the Indian Army on Saturday. Twenty students from Manipur also took off on another national integration tour on Saturday.
Indian Army officials said the 10-day programme, which aims to foster national unity in the conflict-affected region, includes the 15 students from Mahabodhi School in Tawang visiting Delhi, Agra, and Bharatpur.
The Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army flagged off the tour under Operation Sadbhavana—an initiative undertaken by the Indian Army to address the aspirations of people affected by terrorism, sponsored and abetted by Pakistan. The initiative aims to enlighten young minds from Arunachal Pradesh, offering them a remarkable opportunity to experience the essence of a flourishing and dynamic Viksit Bharat.
The students will visit India's prestigious landmarks, including the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Vrindavan, and the Nehru Planetarium, amongst others. A significant aspect of their journey encompasses an exceptional opportunity to engage with senior govt functionaries—an experience destined to create enduring impressions and inspire these young scholars.
"This National Integration Tour exemplifies the Indian Army's dedication to nurturing unity and cultivating profound national pride. Through Operation Sadbhavana, the Army facilitates community connections and encourages the forthcoming generation to embrace India's illustrious heritage, collective values, and limitless potential," said a senior Army official.
