  • 123 Kalna: The body of a 19-year-old who had left her house with her mother for her English tuition on Friday evening was found near railway tracks of Jiudhara, close to Kalna station, on Saturday. She had left her tutor's house without telling her mother.

After leaving her teacher's home around 6 pm, she went missing. The deceased has been identified as Angana Haldar, a class XII student of Krishnadebpur High School in Kalna. She lived at Dhatrigran.

On Friday evening, Rinku Halder Das, Angana's mother, reported to Kalna PS that her daughter went for the tuition around 5.18 pm while she waited outside. Angana's mother reportedly received a distress call from her daughter saying, "They won't let me live". She later learnt that Angana had left around 6 pm. She then filed a plaint at Kalna PS. After the body was found on Saturday, her family alleged that it was a murder.

GRPS reviewed CCTV footage showing Angana moving between overbridge and platform 1 before walking towards station's end on Friday.
