Stating that temperature may drop by two to three degrees in the Himalayan region in the north and Gangetic Bengal in the south, the Alipore centre of the India Meteorological Department said this is not likely to happen before Friday.

According to the Met forecast, dry weather will prevail in all the districts of southern West Bengal for the next few days, with no chance of rain. For at least three days, night temperatures will see no change, the weather office added. After that, they may drop by two or three degrees.

In northern parts of the state, Darjeeling and Kalimpong may receive scattered light rain from Monday to Wednesday. The remaining districts are expected to experience dry weather.

Kolkata’s minimum temperature on Monday was 22.8 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 0.2 degrees above normal. The sky will be mostly clear in Kolkata throughout the day on Monday.
