• Abhishek to meet doctors at Amtala summit

  • 12 Kolkata: Trinamool general secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee is set to interact with doctors at a meeting this Saturday, for the first time since the RG Kar incident in Aug. The Doctors' Summit will be held at Somonnoy Auditorium in Amtala, South 24 Parganas.

    Around 500 doctors from both govt and private hospitals are expected to take part in the summit, where Banerjee will speak on "health for all".

    Sources said Banerjee is planning to hold health camps at different places of his Diamond Harbour constituency for a month from Dec 15-Jan 15. Doctors from different hospitals will check patients at these camps.

    On the sidelines of the doctors' summit, Banerjee will also hold a meeting with the DM, SP, CMOH and other govt officials, including doctors, about how the health camps would be conducted, sources said.
