12 Kolkata: The doctor who was present during the Aug 9 inquest proceedings in the RG Kar case deposed before the Sealdah court on Tuesday — on the sixth day of the trial of the rape and murder case.
During a three-hour in-camera court proceeding, two photographers — one with the CBI and the other with the Kolkata Police — narrated their versions before the court. The CBI, in its charge sheet, said that the Tala police station requested an inquest in the presence of a judicial magistrate at the request of the victim's parents and protesting doctors. The judicial magistrate conducted inquest proceedings under videography from 4.20 pm to 4.40 pm in the presence of others, including the doctor.
The inquest report mentioned 10 injuries on the body, including bleeding from the eyes and mouth, injury on face, belly, and nail, bleeding from the vagina, and injuries on the left leg and ankle. The medical board constituted by the AIIMS Kalyani examined the videography of the inquest proceedings. The head of the department of forensic medicine and toxicology submitted his report in Aug. In the report, he was of the opinion that the findings observed in the inquest proceedings videography were consistent with the post-mortem examination report.
According to sources, the doctor who conducted the tests of the victim's DNA samples will depose before the court on Wednesday. The doctor's assistant will also depose before the court.
