• West Bengal election: Violence, corruption being encouraged by political action, says Governor Ananda Bose

  • KOLKATA: West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose stated that political parties in the state are contributing to violence and corruption, calling these issues a "cancer" during a statement to reporters on Saturday.

    "The two aspects which are a cancer on the body politics of Bengal are violence and corruption.     He did not specify any particular party as responsible. Bose also expressed concern over recent violence in the Beldanga area of Murshidabad, stating he is monitoring the situation.

    This statement comes after communal violence broke out in Beldanga on November 16th.
