Kolkata: The Kolkata Traffic Police asked bus drivers and auto operators to ensure that they do not drop off passengers in the middle of the road. The driver and conductor would be prosecuted if passengers were spotted alighting from their bus in an errant manner, cops cautioned.

These instructions were communicated during a special awareness campaign organised by the South East Traffic Guard .
Bus operators were told not to stop their vehicles at spots other than the bus stops. The cops reminded that bus operators may be punished if found not helping passengers.
