123 Kolkata: A helmetless biker died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle at Park Circus Connector in front of Hindu Burial Ground at Topsia on Friday night.
The biker, Ronik Singh (20), a resident of Tiljala Road, suffered multiple injuries. Cops rushed to the spot and took the biker to CNMCH where he was declared brought dead.
Cops said the unknown vehicle fled from the spot after hitting the biker around 10.20 pm. The biker was lying on the road until cops recovered him.
According to the Kolkata Police, Park Circus Connector is one of the speeding corridors for bikers. At night, bikers also tend to race with each other on this stretch and meet with accidents.
Besides, jaywalking on this stretch poses another big problem, for which the Kolkata Police has sought the intervention of civic agencies.
