• Now Andaman Islands more accessible with Air India Express starting daily flights from Kolkata

  • Air India Express launched daily flights between Kolkata and Port Blair, with the inaugural flight taking off from NSC Bose International Airport at 5:40 am on Sunday.

    The return flight left Port Blair at 12.20 pm.

    “AAI wishes all the best to Air India Express on this milestone. As the key enabler of aviation infrastructure, Airports Authority of India is proud to support the seamless operation of this new route, ensuring world-class facilities, safety, and efficiency at airports. This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing connectivity and promoting regional growth in the aviation sector,” AAI said in a statement.

    Air India Express said it wanted to make the Andaman Islands more accessible for residents and tourists, offering diverse travel options.

    “Andaman has always been one of the favourite spots for tourists from the east. We hope the increased connectivity will drive tourism and economic activity, making it easier for travellers to visit the Union Territory,” said Sumit Mehta, a private tour operator.
