Kolkata: The Calcutta HC on Tuesday directed Jadavpur University to submit a report detailing the actions taken regarding a case filed by Fetsu ex-chairperson Aritra Majumdar, a PhD student, who was suspended for six months in connection with the unnatural death of a first-year student. Justice Jay Sengupta directed for the state to be made party to the case. The judge observed that if a complaint is filed against the student, the court can only take action after reviewing the case diary. However, no decision was taken regarding his participation in the exam. The matter will be next taken up on Dec 12.
