• Doctor dies of dengue

  • Kolkata: A 47-year-old doctor from Chandernagore died at SSKM Hospital on Tuesday where she had been undergoing treatment for dengue. According to sources, the doctor, Swati Dey, had been suffering from fever for more than a week. Her blood samples tested positive of dengue and she was being treated at a local hospital since Nov 24.

    She was shifted to SSKM Hospital on on Nov 30 and was getting treatment at the ICU. Doctors at the Kolkata hospital said her platelet level went down at a dangerous level and all attempts to save her went futile.

    Last week, two patients, from Kamduni and South 24 Parganas had died in a city hospital. tnn
