  • 12 Kolkata: Bombs were allegedly hurled outside the house of BJP functionary Vaishali Dalmiya at Natunpara near Behala Chowrasta early on Sunday.

According to Dalmiya, she and her son had a close shave. She told Thakurpukur police that around 12.30 am, while she was sitting on her balcony, the house suddenly shook with a loud noise.

"The bomb got stuck in the high wall and barbed wire. If not, it would have hit my window directly. I saw a flash like a scene from a Hindi movie. I can't understand the reason for this attack," she said.

The police have started investigating the incident and are scanning the CCTV footage. Locals claimed two men on a scooter hurled the bombs and fled.

When the locals realized that there was a bomb attack, they informed the police. Officers from Thakurpukur police station arrived at the scene. The cops recovered bomb fuses and stone chips from the site. The entire area has been cordoned off. Local residents are being questioned about the incident. However, the police are still unsure about who is responsible. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed to identify the culprits.
